Dear Fellowship Members:
With great sorrow, we are announcing that Joe H, our long time and treasured Executive Director, is retiring in March, 2019. Joe began working at the ISO office in 2007 with filling literature orders. Joe became Director of Operations in May, 2009. The title for this position was changed to Executive Director in 2013, and Joe has rendered invaluable service to ISO in that capacity for ten years. During the time of his service, Joe has seen the fellowship experience rapid growth, and the office has greatly expanded the services it provides members of SAA. Joe will be missed by all of us who have had the pleasure of working with him to bring our program to addicts who still suffer all over the world.
It is a great pleasure to report that Paul M of Houston has been hired as the new Executive Director. He will start his service on January 16, 2019, and will spend the first six weeks transitioning into his post by working directly with Joe. He is currently acclimating himself by volunteering his service in the ISO office. Paul started his recovery in SAA in November 2004, and began service in SAA in 2007, by taking on the duties of ordering literature & chips for his home group. He has worked with the Houston intergroup since 2010, was involved in planning of the 2011 Houston convention, and has spent the past six years on the ISO Office Oversight Committee. Paul was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2012 and served as chair during his last two years on the board.
Please join us in thanking Joe for his long and productive service as Executive Director and in welcoming Paul as our new Executive Director.
Yours in SAA Service,
Bob L, Chair of the Board of Trustees
