Through our local meetings, we have a voice in SAA as a whole. Our groups send group service representatives (GSRs) to area assemblies that, in turn, send delegates to the annual meeting of the ISO Conference. The delegates bring the decisions and concerns of the groups in their areas to bear on matters affecting SAA as a whole. In this way we each contribute to the decision-making process of the entire fellowship. We rely on our Higher Power for guidance in all our deliberations.

The Conference refers to either the annual meeting of delegates, or the body of delegates itself. It is a legal body that meets once a year.
The convention is a recovery event that meets in a different city every year. It features speakers, workshops, recovery meetings, lots of fellowship, and various outer circle activities.
